Motivation Monday (September 14, 2020)

Each week a new theme. Each day 10 minutes to focus our mindset on what matters. I'm Sarah Parker, Wolf, and you're listening to the FOCUSED INTENTION PODCAST. Thanks for joining me. 
 
This week's theme is GOOD INTENTIONS, and today is Motivation Monday. And that means we focus on getting ourselves ready for a great week ahead. 
 
Hi all and thanks for joining us for another episode of the FOCUSED INTENTION PODCAST. I'm Sarah and I'm so happy that you're joining me today for Motivation Monday. We are talking this week about GOOD INTENTIONS, so let's get started. 
 
So sometimes Monday isn't my favorite day. I have to get up with an alarm, have to shower and be ready by a certain time. Even during my work at home pandemic schedule, there is no leisurely coffee drinking or sitting around and watching the news. Plus, sometimes there is just a mountain of stuff waiting for me with work and you add to that kids with school now E learning and add to it anything out of the ordinary that's getting to me like world events or car issues or money issues or kid issues or family issues or self issues (because you know that diet I'm on flew out the window over the weekend). Of course all of that is to say it is pretty easy to move into a day or even a week, dooming the entire thing before it even happened. I am pretty sure. I have never heard TGIM -- Thank God it's Monday. 
 
I know we've all done it from time to time. We have launched into a day already intent on how horrible it will be like, have a meeting or a dentist appointment or another week. Same old, same old you know, and it rarely proves us wrong. So I say this to my kids and maybe you do too, or maybe you heard it as a kid, but I tell them “You can't say you hate something before you even try it.” Right, it makes sense with food, but why doesn't it make sense with Monday? Or really any day? 
 
I mean, we're miserable before we're miserable. So, let's stop that in its tracks. Starting today, we will choose good intent. Does that mean something crappy won't happen? Of course not, but the difference will be that we won't be out there looking for it. We won't be chasing it. We won't be expecting it. We are going to be bound and determined to make good things happen this week and good things start on a Monday. 
 
So, our GOOD INTENTIONS start off with this good intention: My week is filled with good people and positive events. 
My week is filled with good people and positive events. 
 
See now does not feel better knowing that Monday is going to be good to you, knowing that you are moving into this week completely certain that it's going to be filled with goodness will look for it and we'll find it. 
 
All right, here we go. Let's take that nice deep breath in. Through your nose, hold it ...two, three...and let it all go. One more time. Take a nice deep breath in, hold it there and exhale. And then let's say to ourselves... 
My week is filled with good people and positive events. 
My week is filled with good people and positive events. 
My week is filled with good people and positive events.
