Each week a new theme. Each day 10 minutes to focus our mindset on what matters. I'm Sarah Parker, Wolf, and you're listening to the FOCUSED INTENTION PODCAST. Thanks for joining me.

This week's theme is
GOOD INTENTIONS, and today is Well-being Wednesday when we focus on how to take better care of ourselves.

Hi everyone and thanks for joining me for another episode of the FOCUSED INTENTION PODCAST on this Well-being Wednesday. I'm so glad you're here. Hopefully you got a chance to listen to Motivation Monday and Truthful Tuesday, but if you didn't, please go back and check it out or one of our other themed episodes from weeks past, but right now we're going to talk about how to take better care of ourselves.
So, let's get started.
So a few years back we had a neighbor who would walk all the way around the front of our house to the back where there were a ton of windows and knock on the door, but she would pick up her hands around her eyes to peek inside it, scared the living crap out of me almost every time.

And the worst part was I always thought Oh my gosh, there is no escape. There're too many windows. She would totally see me sprint for the bedroom and close the door and I'm pretty sure knowing her, she would have stayed outside and waited for me to come out of hiding. But no matter what she wanted, I resented that intrusion and I got myself all worked up and annoyed and stressed out.

Now for a second, let's imagine a different scenario. Let's imagine if I had just assumed
GOOD INTENTIONS. What if instead of assuming she was being nosy or irritating, or that she was trying to catch me? What if I assumed she was lonely or concerned or just liked to see my cute little kids?

Sure, her knocks may have still scared the crap out of me, but I could have saved myself that fight, flight or freeze moment. And perhaps I could have even relaxed an enjoyed a minute or two of conversation and then still excused myself back to whatever I was doing. Same time frame but no annoyance, no strain.
 No stress.

So take a minute and think of your own scenario. What if when that coworker asked for help for the third time, you assume GOOD INTENTIONS and write down the answer. Or when your relative calls for the 60th time, you pick up an, you're polite and you listen, and then you excuse yourself back. What if we assume first that people are filled with goodness...with GOOD INTENTIONS... every single time.

So today's intention is very straightforward: I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.

I assume GOOD INTENTIONS. Now don't get me wrong, there are definitely those people who have bad intentions, but I'm just saying, let's not pin that on someone right out of the gate. Positive interactions are the goal of the day that one's going to take a minute to sink in, right?

So let's take a nice deep breath. In through the nose. Exhale and let go of all those thoughts of bad intentions. Take a nice deep breath in again. Hold it and exhale and let's say to ourselves...
I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.
I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.
I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.
I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.
I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.
I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.
I assume GOOD INTENTIONS.
